Twenty-seven large photographs from the production of the film "Judith" in Israel, and two portrait-photographs hand-signed by the film's heroine. Sophia Loren. Israel, 1964.
The collection includes photographs of Loren from the set (with the actors Peter Finch and Jack Hawkins, while filming scenes in a kibbutz and in an orange grove, meeting IDF soldiers and more), photographs of battle scenes, The "Kibbutz" built in Tel- Avdon for photography, photograph of the producer Kurt Unger with lieutenant general Dan Boehm (representative of IDF Spokesperson unit sent to supervise the photography of Israeli soldiers) and two portrait photographs of Loren (identical), both signed by her.
Enclosed: a printed card: "Thank you for your help on 'Judith'. Sincerely, Kurt Unger, Nahariya, November 1964".
Lot of 29 photographs, arranged in an album. Twenty-seven photographs of approx. 20.5X25 cm and two portrait photographs of approx. 15X10 cm. Condition varies. Good-fair overall condition. Stains (mainly to back). Creases and damage at margins. Tears and open tears at margins of some photographs (mostly small). Inscription by hand on the back of two photographs. Album sized approx. 26 cm, with defects and wear.
Enclosed: a large advertising poster for the film, in two parts. Issued by Cumulus Productions, Ltd & Paramount Pictures Corporation. USA, 1965. Illustration in color, large portrait of Loren and scenes from the film.
Upper part: approx. 104X136 cm. Lower part: approx. 104X65.5 cm. Fair condition. Folding marks. Creases. Tears and open tears (some reinforced with adhesive tape on the back). Long tear at top margins and open tear at bottom right corner of the top part (not affecting illustration or text). Ink-stamps on the back and front sides of the top part.
