A letter from Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, head of Mir Yeshiva, to the recruiting office in Jerusalem confirming that a certain boy "is a student at our Yeshiva and the study of the Torah is his craft."
The letter, from May 1955, was typewritten on the official stationery of Mir Yeshiva and is hand-signed by Rabbi Finkel.
Rabbi Finkel was born in 1879 to his father Rabbh Nathan Zvi Finkel, 'The Saba of Slabodka'. He was the son-in-law of Rabbi Elitahu Baruch Kamai and his substitute as head of Mir Yeshiva in Belarus. After the Holocaust, he founded the Mir Yeshiva in Jerusalem. He died in 1965.
