Collection of letters sent by Shalom Seva to Yosef and Shifra Open of Afikim Kibbutz.
Seva (1897-1975), Israeli artist, scenery designer and sculpture. Acquired his artistic training in Koenigsberg and Berlin. Made aliya in 1936. His crafts were displayed in the Tel Aviv Art Museum.
Collection includes:
About 30 postcards and invitations to exhibits, over 50 letters by Seva, two photographs of the Achva creation, a German letter from Seva on the back of one of the pictures; handwritten 15-page letter, draft for letter with deals extensively with doubts and criticism concerning artwork in Israel, plus two printed and edited copies of the essay, together with "Dear Seva died two days ago…"; a twenty-page letter in German and a 4-page essay in German, pencil notes on the back of the essay; 19 photos of Seva, including picture of his gravesite; pencil inscription on pargament paper, signed; wooden cube with an engraving – image of Shlomo Hamelech; three printed advertisements for Seva's displays.
