Lamp for hanging in the Synagogue. Jerusalem, [1930s-40s].
Silver; metal adornments (silver-plated).
Two-tier lamp. The upper tier is a nonagon. Engraved on the hoop is the inscription: "Ben Porat Yosef, Ben Porat alei ayin…"; has nine detachable hangers for placing oil-cups. Three are elevated and have removable ornamentations in the shape of deer (silver-plated). The second tier, the bottom, is designated for placing a large oil cup.
The lamp was made by Ya'akov Mizrahi (Tzoref), born in the "Yigi'a Kapayim" neighborhood of Jerusalem (1878 or 1880), owner of a jewelry workshop in the "Machane Yehuda" neighborhood, died in 1955.
