Five Photographs – Synagogue in Kecskemét – 1911
Five photographs, the Kecskemét synagogue (Hungary) during the 1911 earthquake and following it, and a photograph of the Jewish street in the town.
The synagogue, built in 1871 near the central square of the town, was designed by the architect Matthias Zitterbarth and had a unique onion dome. The dome was destroyed during the earthquake in 1911 and restored in 1913 by the architect Lipót Baumhorn. The photograph of the building without the dome became one of the town's symbols.
Five photographs mounted on cardboard. Photograph size 11.5X16.5 cm. Good condition. Some stains.
