Zeev Raban, Juha (Joker). Eretz Israel, [ca.1930].
Watercolor and ink on paper, ink stamped (Hebrew): "Zeev Raban, workshop for industrial art (former Gur-Aryeh and Raban), Bezalel, Yerushalem".
Drawing in color of Juha on a donkey. Inscription in English: "Jolly Jocker". From a series of playing cards with figures of Islamic history, first designed by Ze'ev Raban in 1920s. Except for Juha, Raban painted other Arab history heroes, amongst them Scheherazade and Harun El Rashid.
18X12.5 cm. Good condition, minor spotting. In a silver frame (marked). Borders of paper slightly folded and creased.
