3. Torat Emet, Catechism for Instruction in the Mosaic Religion for the Hebrew Free School of San Francisco, by Aron J. Messing. M. Weiss publishing, San Francisco, 1887. English and some Hebrew. Second edition.
“Torat Emet”, composition in question-and-answer form, for Jewish Religion studies in a Jewish school in San Francisco (Hebrew Free School). The author, R’ Aaron Messing, served as rabbi in New-York, Chicago and San Francisco and founded many Jewish congregations and schools in the USA. On verso of the title page - short dedication in English from Messing. Goldman 293. 53, [1]; 16; 46, [1] pp, 18 cm. Good condition. Stains. Several creases and minor tears. Ownership signature on one of the leaves. Damaged binding.
