Impressive Collection of Rabbi Yehosef Schwartz's Books
1. "Sefer Divrei Yosef", Jerusalem 1843.Printed by Israel Beck .Illustrated title page (similar to the book "Avodat Ha-kodesh", printed by same publishers in same period). Part one: T'vu'ot Ha-Shemesh, which contains four articles: (a) The Earth, (b) Ayelet Ha-Shachar (the Morning Star), (c) Tzel Ha-ma'alot, (d) Derech Mevo Ha-shemesh (Path of the Sunset). The last 6 pages contain a halachic response. Part two: T'vu'at Ha-aretz, contains introduction to the book by that name which was published later on, in 1845.

2. The book "T'vu'ot Ha-Aretz" (part II of Divrei Yosef), Jerusalem 1845. Contains three chapters: (a) Chayto Aretz (living creatures), (b) Tzemach Ha-Adama (plants), (c) Avaneha Barzel (minerals). "Ma'amar Ha-Itim" discusses seasons of the year.
Page 23-52 has a special illustrated title page: The Land. Old signatures previous owners.

3. Divrei Yosef, third and fourth parts, Jerusalem, 1861. Israel Beck Publishers. Including Peri Tevu'a, Pardes, Responsum, and "various clarifications in matters of wisdom which everyone can benefit from".
Pages 62b – 69a: Corrections and additions to the book Tevuat Ha-Aretz which was published in 1845. Illustrations on page 7.

[4], 170, [1] page. Pages 162-170: Amendments. 16 cm. Excellent condition, original cardboard and leather binding, scuffed at edges. (S. Halevi 62).
The kabalistic Rabbi and philosopher Rabbi Yehosef Schwartz was born in Germany, 1805, came to Jerusalem in 1833, and died in 1865. His books are still considered fundamental to many issues concerning the Land of Israel, both halachic and scientific - historic research.
