"Cosmographey, das ist Beschreibung aller Länder…" ["Cosmographia"], by Sebastian Münster. [Basel, ca. 1598]. German.
Panoramic view of Jerusalem from the east. Names of sites are marked in German. The woodcut, created by Iacob Clauser, is signed in the plate "IC". On the bottom of the leaf appears a text about the city.
Approx. 38.5X29 cm, framed: 44X54 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains. Creases. Minute tears. Unexamined out of frame.
Provenance: Collection of the Jerusalem Foundation founded by Teddy Kollek.
