Book of polemic: Some claim that the book was not composed by him, but copied from Sefer Ha'Yira'a by Rabbi David of Parabitsh. Some claim that the "Divrei David" was printed in Lublin in 1671, whereas Sefer Ha'Yira'a was printed in the year 1724, 27 years after the death of Rabbi Lida. They also claim that there is no similarity between the books. 

Rabbi Lida was also accused by the Yavetz and the Chida, whose book "Migdal David" was plagiarized and taken from Rabbi Chaim Cohen.
