1. Historia de gli Riti Hebraici. No printer indicated. Paris, 1637. First edition. Italian.
[22], 217 (i.e.: 117), [3] pp, 14 cm. Good condition. Stains. Some open tears to first leaves. The margin of one of the leaves is reinforced with paper. Gilt embossed green leather binding (not original). Bookplate on inside front binding.
2. Historia de riti Hebraici. Venice: Appresso li Prodotti, 1669. Italian.
[6], 123, [3] pp, 12.5 cm. Good condition. Stains. Strip of adhesive tape on verso of title page. Gilt embossed red leather binding (not original). Minor blemishes to binding.Bookplate on inside of front binding.
"History of the Rites of the Jews" was written by Rabbi Yehuda Aryeh of Modena at the request of the English Ambassador in Venice on behalf of James I, King of England. Having gained success, the book was translated into several languages (including French, English and Hebrew) and used for years as an important source of information about the daily customs of the Jewish people.
