1. Medal struck on behalf of the Jewish community in Berlin to commemorate 500 years since the birth of R. Isaac Abravanel, 1937.
Obverse: portrait of Abravanel, the dates 1437-1937, and the legend "Don Isaak Abravanel". Reverse: the Hebrew legend "The… wise man, philosopher and Torah scholar", and a German legend. Diameter: 92 mm. Slight peeling of plating.
2. Medal in memory of R. Akiva Eiger, 1937. White metal, plated.
Obverse: portrait of R. Akiva Eiger, surrounded by the Hebrew legend "Portrait of the head of Diaspora Jewry, servant to the servant of the Lord, R. Akiva Eiger – rabbi of Posen, in memory of the day of his passing, 13 Tishrei, 1837". Reverse: decorative frame, a pair of lions holding the Tablets of the Law, and a German legend.
Diameter: 99 mm. Some of the plating is peeled off.
Medals are framed in a double sided frame, 24.5X18 cm. Good-fair condition. Fractures in the wooden board, in which the medals are set. Stains.
