Two postcards and a letter handwritten by the painter and book illustrator Walter Trier, addressed to Robert David. Germany, ca. 1926. Germany.
1. Autograph letter signed by Walter Trier, in which he tells, amongst other matters, about a new exhibition of his works. February 6, 1926. Written on Trier's letterhead, with an illustration in color, by Trier, appearing on top.
[1] leaf, 27.5 cm. Good condition. Folding marks and creases. Some stains and minute tears. Trier's address was printed on two pieces of paper pasted to the leaf.
2-3. Two postcards – with drawings by Trier printed on them. On one postcard appears a handwrittenletter by Trier, dated 22.11.26, sent by mail to Robert David. The second postcard is also addressed to David, but was not mailed.
Approx. 15X10.5 cm. Good condition. Creases and some light stains.
The artist Walter Trier (1890-1951), born in Prague, was mainly known for his illustrations for children's books by Erich Kestner, and for the periodical "Lilliput".
In the years 1910-1936 Trier lived in Berlin and later relocated to London, where he was engaged, among others, in advertising propaganda material against the Nazi regime.
