35 non-traditional Haggadot and Haggadot for IDF soldiers. Palestine, 1940s-1960s.
The collection contains: * 13 haggadot published in various kibbutzim. Among them are haggadot from Na'an, Nachal Oz, Givat Chaim Ihud, Be'eri, Yifat, Geva, Ayelet HaShahar and Bror Hayil. * 15 Haggadot published by Kibbutzei Hashomer Hatzair, Va'adat HeChagim shel HaKibbutz HaArtzi, Ihud HaKevutzot V'Hakibbutzim and Va'adat HaTarbut shel HaKibbutz HaMe'uhad. * Haggadah published by the Tel-Nordau school in 1961. * 6 haggadot Nusach Achid (unified version) for IDF soldiers, published by the Military Rabbinate.
In most of the Haggadot (with the exception of the military haggadot), sections of the traditional text are presented alongside narrative and poetic passages about Zionism, the settlements, the Holocaust atrocities and the establishment of the State of Israel. The haggadot also feature illustrations, some made by members of the various kibbutzim depicting the topics presented in the haggadot.
Enclosed: A megillah for the Israeli Day of Independence, in honor of the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the State and of Israel's independence. Published by the Givat Brenner Kibbutz, the 4th of Iyar 1958, "30 years after we have settled this property". The megillah contains sections taken from Scriptural sources alongside narrative and poetic passages about Zionism and the establishment of the State of Israel.
35 haggadot. Size and condition vary. Overall good condition. Some haggadot are in fair condition.
