HaOlam, official Hebrew weekly of the Zionist Organization, editor: N. Sokolow. Printed by Zvi Hirsch Itzakowski, Cologne. Bound volume of first year issues: issues 1-52, January-December, 1907.
A bound volume compiling the 52 first year issues of the weekly "HaOlam" (48-49 – double issue). The weekly was the official bulletin of the Zionist Organization in Hebrew, and its title is a translation of the movement's paper name in German, "Di Welt". The paper featured essays about current matters, passages of literature and poetry, Judaism and history as well as letters to and from the editor. The editor of the paper was Nahum Sokolow, and among the writers were Eliezer Ben Yehudah, Joseph Klausner, Mendele Mocher Seforim, Yitzchak Katzenelson and others.
27.5 cm. Fair condition. Several detached leaves. Stains and tears (some with damage to text). Tears and creases to margins of leaves. Folding mark throughout the leaves. Some leaves are reinforced with adhesive tape at inner margins. Binding is stained and worn. Loose spine, partly torn.
