A diverse collection of some 200 tickets, invitations, stamps, letters and various paper items, recording the cultural life in Palestine: theaters, education, music, sports and different cultural institutes in Palestine. Palestine and Israel, 20th century (most are from the first half of 20th century).
The collection includes:
* A letter, handwritten on official stationery of "Jewish Theater Enthusiasts, Jaffa", sent to the director of "Herzliya" Jewish gymnasium, on 11 Kislev, 1910, concerning the rent of the gymnasium hall by the theater. Signed by the committee members Joseph Luria, Menachem Gnesin and Haim Harari. * Advertising poster for the play "Jewish King Lear", performed in the cinema hall "Coloseum" in Haifa, by "Teatron Amami Habimah, Jaffa", in 1920. * Companies Law 1921, a Limited Company, prospectus and memorandum of the Palestine Opera Ltd. A brochure with forms and documents, for registration of the Palestine Opera by the Companies Registrar. Signed by the company founders, among them conductor Mordechai Golinkin. Printed by "Beit Defus Yerushalem", Jerusalem, [ca.1924]. * Illustrated invitation on behalf of the zoo and "Circus Margolin" in Tel-Aviv, for a "one-time special performance of the fourth Giraffe", 1946. * Six paper labels for IDF Independence Day festivities, from the late 1950s through mid 1960s. * Thirteen promotional and political bills, 1950s-60s. * Eight newspaper clippings with ink-stamps of different entities in Tel-Aviv: "Jewish Gymnasium Herzliya", "Municipal Sanitary Supervisor", "Tel-Aviv Municipality, treasury", and more. * Tens of stamps including "Kultur Fund" stamps (designed by Issachar Ber Ryback): Hebrew University, Jerusalem, stamps; stamp of "Technion Friends in Israel", Bialik stamps; Maccabi "Aid Stamp"; stamp of Cameri Theater building fund; and entrance tickets and publications for cultural events, receipts for donations for educational causes and more items.
