Rare Appeal by the Gaon Yechezkel Abramsky to say Chapters of Psalms Approximately Two Weeks Before the Outbreak of the Six Day War

Letter to the heads of the holy yeshivas asking them to have chapters of Psalms recited daily after the shacharit prayers in the yeshivas due to the tense situation, with Rabbi Yechezkel Abramsky's signature - 11 Iyar 1967, approximately two weeks before the outbreak of the Six Day War.

The request was sent to Yeshivat Gur in Jerusalem. In it, the gaon calls for the recital of Psalms 20, 80, and 83 daily, and concludes with the words, 'And the Guardian of Israel will spread the sukkah of his peace on us and on all Israel.' The gaon's handwritten signature is in the margins of the letter.

Rabbi Yechezkel Abramsky [1886-1976], author of the Chazon Yechezkel, was a member of Agudat Yisrael's Council of Torah Sages and among the rosh yeshivas of Yeshivat Slobodka in Bnei Brak.
