Collection of Letters and Circulars from Zionist Organizations - From the Estate of Dr. Egon Zweig

About 70 paper items from the estate of Dr. Egon Zweig (1873-1949), a Moravia-born Zionist activist who spent most of his life in Vienna. Zweig was among the founders of the JNF, a secretary of Herzl and a delegate to several Zionist congresses. Germany, Austria (numerous items), Poland, Holland, England and Croatia, ca. 1903-1936. German and some Hebrew and English.
A diverse collection that includes handwritten letters, circulars and printed cards, several telegrams, postcards and cards from various Zionist organizations. Included are letters sent from the following organizations: Zionistischer Zentral-Verein in Wien, Verband Zion Wien, Judische Nationalverein fur Osterreich, Herzl-Klub (Vienna), the Executive Bureau of the Jewish National Fund in Austria (Vienna), the Bureau of the Zionist Center, Vienna, the Central Zionist Council, Vienna, the head bureau of the JNF in Cologne, the bureau of the Zionist Center in Cologne, the bureau of the Zionist Center in Berlin, JNF in Berlin, the Council for Financial and Economic Matters of the Zionist Organization in London, the United Jewish Appeal in London, the Jewish community in Vilnius, the Central Council of Galician Jews, the Council of Southern Galicia of the JNF (Stanislav), the Organization of Zionists in the SHS (Zagreb), the head bureau of the JNF in The Hague, and more; many of the letters carry the stamps of the secretaries and bureau heads.
In addition, the collection includes an entry ticket to the 15th Zionist Congress in Basel (1927), a receipt for a donation for a Purim basket (JNF New York), an invitation to a convention of the "Revival" (Tchiya) Club in London (1925), a postcard from the Judischer Buch und Kunstverlag (Brno), two newspaper issues of the JNF in Austria, and other items. Some of the documents were sent to other addressees.
