A Letter from Rabbi Pinchas Epstein

A letter in the handwriting and with the signature of Rabbi Pinchas Epstein dated: 1964. Sent to his friend Rabbi Israel Porath, a Rabbi in Cleveland.

In the letter he tells him about a different life which has been forced upon him: "Apart from the disease of diabetes... and on this Succot I became very dizzy until I could fall on Succot and I was forced to enter into Sha'arei Tzedek on the instructions of Dr. Schlesinger...  I only remained because of the diabetes, and the weakness and the pain in the legs which are very swollen...I also went to Professor Tzundak who said that the disease is in the legs...". He later apologizes that he told him about his illness: "And as I can not fulfill 'remove it from his mind'...".

Rabbi Pinchas Epstein [died on December 26, 1969], Av Beit Din of the Eida Chareidit in Jerusalem, served as a Dayan on the Eidah Chareidit's Beit Din during the time of Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld and Rabbi Yitzchak Yerucham Diskin.
