Mourning Notice Regarding the Murder of Pinchas Seglov - before being brought to burial.

We are shattered and broken by the tragic death of our devoted friend... the martyr Pinchas Seglov who was murdered for the sake of the holiness of Shabbat by the police. The funeral will depart today etc.

In the framework of the Shabbat protests of the summer of 1956, Pinchas Seglov, a Gerrer Chassid, died of his wounds after being beaten by police. To this day, Seglov is considered by many to be the symbol of the struggle for safeguarding Shabbat.
