"Hitorerei Yerushalayim ki naga ad libeich." Important poster protesting outside interference in yeshiva studies

Important poster calling for attendance at an inspirational meeting in the wake of attempts by the secular authorities to interfere with the sacred studies in yeshiva and turn them into secular subjects. Chorev press. Jerusalem, c. 1940s.

"Due to the frightening decree, because foreigners have come to decrease Torah and weaken it...to close the doors of yeshivot in the face of those who learn there...a fearful decree intended to progressively uproot religion and give place for people far from religion to rule over those who observe the Torah and study it and interfere in their affairs. A decree that would make Torah study like secular studies...as if, chas v'shalom, there is no value in the very diligence....an outrage, yeshiva students and those who love Torah....!"

Rabbi Avraham Yisrael Moshe Solomon (the Rabbi of Charkov), Rabbi Mordechai Dovid Levin, Rabbi Shalom Halevi Eisen spoke at this meeting that took place to generate awareness of these plots. The concluding words were delivered by famed preacher, Rabbi Shabtai Yudelevitz.

Size: 43x66 cm. Brown paper. Fold marks. Reinforcing paper pasted to the back of the bottom of the poster. Moderate-fine condition.
