Peretz Smolenskin (1842-1885), author, editor and publicist, member of the "Haskalah" movement and later of the Chovevei Zion movement. Founded the National Students Association "Kadima" in Vienna. The weekly "HaMabit" (was later titled "HaMabit LeIsrael") defined itself as a weekly paper for the family, and considered itself as a weekly journal in a European spirit. Was published during 1878. Its publication ceased after twenty six issues. Lot of twenty four issues bound together. 33 cm. Good condition. Tears, most of them restored.
