Chochmat Shlomo with the "Ru'ach Chen" Commentary – Berlin 1780 – the Copy of Av Beit Din of Lublin – Poem for the Author in His Friend's Handwriting – Inscriptions
Chochmat Shlomo, words of wisdom and proverbs for God worship attributed to King Solomon, translated into Hebrew, with a commentary titled "Ru'ach Chen" by Rabbi Naftali Hirtz Wessely.
Berlin, 1780 – First edition.
Until the days of the author, the book "Chochmat Shlomo" was written in a foreign language. It is common knowledge that the Ramban had a Aramaic/Acadian copy of the book. The author of the book before us translated the book into Hebrew and added his commentary.
At the beginning of the book, a long, important preface about the history of the book as well as the aims and methods of the commentary.
On the title page of the book, ancient inscriptions from the time of printing: "Belongs to the Rabbi Av Beit Din of Lublin". Another inscription with a signature: "Moshe … of Krakow".
On the reverse side of the title page, a poem about the book and its author signed "Meshulam". Additional inscriptions appear in the title "to my dear friend the author", on the first leaf of the preface and at the end of the book.
