Levush Ir Shushan, part five – Halachic rulings on the Tur Choshen Mishpat. By Rabbi Mordechai Yoffe. Berdichev, 1821. Printing press of Yisrael Beck.
This edition of the books of the Levush was printed in Berdichev between the years 1818-1821 – five magnificent parts on blue paper, in the printing press of Yisrael Beck, the printer in Safed and Jerusalem.
In part one of this edition were printed approbations from the "Ohev Yisrael" of Apta, Rabbi Yisrael son of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berdichev, Rabbi Mordechai son of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Chernobyl and from other Rebbes and Dayanim in Berdichev who praised this edition exuberantly.
All of the book's leaves are a blueish color. On the title page the name of the book and the place of printing are printed in red letters. In the center of the title page is the symbol of the printing press of Beck, who later immigrated with it to Safed, and a small number of books printed in Jerusalem were printed with this symbol.
Condition: Very Good. Original leather binding. Pretty copy. Slight blemishes and aging wear at the edges of the binding.
