Letter by Rabbi Shmuel Greineman about his emmigration to Eretz Yisroel. Nissan 1953


The letter is addressed to Rabbi Simcha Elberg editor of the "Hapardes". He apologizes for his delay to send a Torah article to the journal but it was because of "All the Jewish Yishuv is enduring at this world shattering time"


Later on he expressess his gratification and happiness upon settling in Eretz Yisroel:


מבחינת מה שאמר דוד המלך ע"ה בתהלים "כי בחרתי הסתופף בבית ה' מדור באהלי רשע.." - "והנני רואה כי גם אני עבדו הקטן מוכרחני לחזור על הפסוק הזה. וב"ה שנתן בלב אויבי נפשי לעזרני להחלץ מעול הכבד ולצאת לחפשי לארצנו הק' ומאתו לא תצא הרעות"..



Rabbi. Shmuel Greineman (1889-1957), an outstanding Talim Chochom and activist in the community in Lithuania, in Israel and the United States. Was close to the Chafetz Chaim and Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski. One of the founders to the conference in Vilnius and core operations, and founder of the “Education Center Torah” Land of Israel. He published books of his brother in law books the Chazon Ish, and also published the book “Chafetz Chaim Torah”.

He was the son-in-law of Rabbi Shemaryahu Yosef Karelitz, father of the Chazon Ish. During his stay in the United States, he served as director of the Tiferet Yerushalayim yeshiva of Rabbi Moshe Feinstein. He was one of the founders of the Kollel in Bnei Brak initiated by the Chazon Ish. He published the book Chafetz Chaim on the Torah, and other works of the Chafetz Chaim's teachings.
