Menasheh Ben-Yisrael Tanach. Amsterdam, 1639. Beautiful Copy With Special Leather Binding
Important and beautiful edition of the Tanach, printed by Jews at the renowned press of Menasheh Ben-Yisrael, with a prayer by him in the colophon. Precise Tanach with text both as written and as pronounced, open and closed paragraphs, lacking and extra (letters), as in Torah scrolls. Printed as two columns with vowelized letters. Leaves at the end contain a table of haftarahs for the whole year according to all customs.
112; 144, 144-166; 94, [4] leaves. Approximately 16 cm. Bound with another book.
Very fine condition. Magnificent gilt leather binding, colorful page cuts.
