Shtar Shlichut L'Holechet Get Signed by Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv
A "get" and "shtar shlichut l'holechet haget l'isha" signed by Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv. 1951.
The divorce is written in a scribal hand, with a printed form for sending the get from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel with personal information filled in by hand (of the attached get), signed by dayanim, Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, Rabbi Yaakov Kalmas and Rabbi Yosef Kapach.
Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv was appointed dayan in the Regional Jerusalem rabbinate from Kislev 1951 – just a few months before he signed on this document. A few years later, he was appointed dayan on the Supreme Rabbinical Council. He resigned in 1972, in protest of the ruling on the Langer case. Rabbi Yaakov Kalmas served as Rabbi of Moscow before immigrating to Israel. Rabbi Yosef Kapach was born in Yemen, immigrated to Israel and served as dayan for many years. He authored and edited many works.
