Agreement for arbitration (borerut) for a bank disagreement. Mantua, 1584.
1 paper. 21x31 cm. Italian script. The contract includes the appointment of Rabbi Yeshaya Shmuel Norlingen, nephew of Rabbi Meir Padua Katzenelbogen, and signatures of פנחס אלייא בן הגאון צמח אליא ממשפחת מילי and אייזיק בן יעקב וויילא. Many details about banking transactions in 16th century Mantua.
Amongst the names of arbitrators and ligitators: שלמה סג"ל מאוסטיליו, משה מפאנו, יצחק ידידיה מריאטי יהודה אריה מפיסא, שמואל מינץ ביריטארו and רבי גרשון כהן פורטו - patriarch of the Rapaport family, prominent Italian rabbi and Rabbi of Mantua.
