Sefer HaChassidim. Basle, [1581]
Sefer HaChassidim, laws, conduct and mussar. Attributed to Rabbi Yehuda HaChassid. Basle, 1581. Second edition. [4], 116 leaves. 20 cm.
'The title reflects its essence…the primary points of mitzvos….with mussar and rebuke for the many and individuals.. (from the first introduction). 'The book was arranged by the publisher and therefore we chose…to mark the laws and actions…('from the second introduction).
This work is attributed to Rabbi Yehuda HaChasid who lived in Ashkenaz [Germany] at the end of the 12th-beginning of the 13th century. He was known for his chassidus and asceticism. He included instructions regarding conduct in his tzava'a that are not sourced in the Talmud. The book was first printed in Bologna, 1487.
Nice, modern binding. Reinforcement to the margins of the title page and a few other leaves, not affecting text. Aging and damp stains. Fine condition.
