17th century. Shu"t Maharam of Rothenburg. Prague, 1608.

Shu"t Maharam of Rothenburg. Responsa by Rav Meir b"r Baruch of Rothenburg [Maharam]. Along with the Takanos Rabbeinu Tam and other Geonim, Takanos Rabbeinu Gershon MeiOhr HaGolah, including the prohibition on marrying two wives. With the Darchei Teshuvah, for those who converted under duress.
  • Most of the work is the first edition.
  • This edition was printed by Rav Yitzchak Katz, son-in-law of the Maharal of Prague. He wrote a lengthy introduction, with his name in acrostics.
  • Magnificent title page with cherubic images. Within the border, on top of the Kohen's hands raised in brachah, there is a printed name: Mordechai Cohen. The printer's grandfather, Moshe Katz.
Prague 1608. At the press of Moshe ben Yosef Betzalel Katz.
2, 14-114, 5-13 leaves. Index bound at the conclusion.
Dark leaves, water stains, thin paper, marginal tears to the title page - slightly damaging the border. Leaves 2-introduction, tear with light loss, and tape in the margins of the leaves, on the text (refer to picture). Moderate-fine condition.

Stefansky, Sifrei Yesod, 264.
