Hrh"k Rabbi Avraham Elimelech of Karlin refers in the letter to his venerable Chassid the Jerusalemite righteous Rabbi Asher Freund, to his great charity organization and blesses him with sufficient livelihood and complete recovery.
Letter of thanks and many holy blessings, from the Holy Rabbi Avraham Elimelech Perlow of Karlin, to his loyal Chassid who was famous in those days as the wonderful Jerusalemite righteous Rabbi Usher Freund "Reb Usher".
Between the special blessings the Rabbi refers to the charity organization of this young man who became famous in the later years for his many magnificent charity activities, and the Rabbi blesses him with his holy blessing that he should merit: 'לתת מתוך הרחבה במתן אדם ירחיב לו'
It seems that this was the first letter referred about this famous charity organization, and appears to us as a personal letter from his esteemed Rabbi.

The letter is written on an official letter head of the Rabbi 'Avraham Elimelch Perlow of Karlin on Karalinska Street 13/18 residing now in the Holy City of Jerusalem'.

At the beginning of the letter the Rabbi confirms the receipt of charity money that he received from the esteemed young Chasid, Asher ben Chaya Rivka Devorah Friend, through R' Aharon Holtovski. The Rabbi immediately blesses him with abundant of materialism and spiritualism and a speedy recovery, and a special blessing to merit to always give a lot of charity, as this was the desire of Rabbi Usher.

Hrh"k Rabbi Avraham Elimelech of Karlin [1892-1932] was the son of Hrh"k Rabbi Yisrael of Karlin and continued the holy ways of his father in the city of Stolin and Karlin. And from all over Volhynia they swarmed to his courtyard, he set up a great Yeshiva for hundreds of students and all the Gedolim had the greatest admiration for him. His disciple Rabbi Moshe Modechei of Leluv defined him as the 'Bal Shem Tov of our generation'.
His four extended visits to Israel left a continuous mark. In the year 1925, 1928, 1933, 1939. His last visit was before the outbreak of the Second World War when through out his visit he spoke explicitly about the heavy clouds covering Europe. Even though, he returned to his city and his Chassidim despite much begging of his Chassidim in Israel. He was killed in martyrdom in Europe in Cheshvan of 1943.

The Jerusalemite Righteous Rabbi Usher Freund fondly called 'Rav Usher' [1910-2003] was a famous righteous and known to have established alone massive Chessed organizations. Many followed after him intertwined with love, they consulted for guidance and advice in all areas of life and absorbed from his wellsprings of faith and trust and his ways of Avodat Hashem which were part of him always ...
