You Cannot Make an Eruv in Itzkan (Ițcani). Postcard From Rabbi Gershon Stettner to Rabbi Meshulam Roth
“It is impossible to establish an Eruv in Itzkan”, handwritten postcard from the Gaon Rabbi Gershon Stetner, Dayan of Shotz HYD – sent to his friend the Gaon Rabbi Meshulam Roth, Av Beis Din of Chernowitz, regarding an Eruv in Itzkan, residence of the holy Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Itzkan- Shtefanesht.
The Gaon Rabbi Gershon Stetner states that it is impossible to put up an Eruv in Itzkan due to the railroad tracks and station, its width and the impossibility of setting up a halachic doorway there.
