Very early edition! Sefer HaMidos by Rabbeinu Moharan of Breslov. Pocket format. Rare!
Sefer HaMidos compiling Ma'amrei Kodesh, advice and various matters on Avodas Hashem and names of Tzaddikim authored by Rabbeinu himself (some say he authored them in his childhood when he was a pure seven-years-old child). Several months after his passing, his disciple the Holy Rav Rabbi Nosson edited the lists of his Rav and published them.
The year and place of printing of this edition is disputed. In the Sefer before us, the year and place of printing are not mentioned at all. In "Eleh Shemos" and "Neveh Tzaddikim" the issue was studied at length. Most researchers revaluate the Sefer to Ostroh 1821 and in Stefansky Chassidut it is dated to ca. 1830.
A special pocket edition, to be carried in one's coat as Rabbi Nosson writes in his foreword 'And he wrote it himself in a very small volume and said that his intention was that everyone could carry it with them always since the Midos are the basis of the entire Torah'.
Stamp on the title page: "Beis Midrash of the Ashkenazim community in London Jews College London".
13 cm. 102 leaves.
Several leaves have been professionally restored, minor blemish to spine, some tears, new vellum binding. General condition very good.
