[The publisher and inspirer of this publication, the famous Russian ethnographer, archaeologist and educational historian Pompey Nikolaevich Batyushkov, calls the book of Professor N. I. Severed from" mainland " Russia since the middle of the 14th century, the Kholm land has been returning to the Russian Empire since 1815, and the country is trying to restore the broken spiritual and cultural unity.
N. I. Petrov's work describes the historical path of the zabuzhya Region in the context of the common fate of the Russian West, contrasting facts and documents with attempts to falsify the actual course of events.]
