The signatures at the beginning of this book include Yosef Meir Weiss son of Shmuel Zvi of Mukacheve and three other stamps and signatures.
The Admo"r Rabbi Yosef Meir Weiss, author of Imrei Yosef of Spinka (1838-1909), the first Admo"r of the Spinka dynasty, was a student of the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Shmelka of Salish, author of Tzror HaChaim. The Spinka rebbe was also a disciple of the Admo"r Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac of Zhydachiv.
The power of his prayers was well known, and many came to him for blessings and assistance, and many wonders are attributed to him.
