Koltsov Aleksey Yakovlevich (1912-1990).

Famous Soviet painter, sculptor, marine painter, landscape painter. Member of the USSR Union of Artists. Honored Worker of Culture of the RSFSR. Graduated from the Academy of Arts in Leningrad. Studied at the All-Russian Academy of Arts at the Faculty of Architecture under the guidance of the famous architect L. V. Rudnev. All the war years he served in the Northern Fleet. He created a series of films about the North Sea people: Boris Safonov, Polarnoye, Scout of Wheat, Submariner Avgustinovich, Watchmen, Minus Forty, Hero of Ivan Sivko and others. He drew cartoons for the satirical posters "Battering Ram" and "Windows of Polar Truth". Alexey Koltsov is the author of the monument to F. Vidyaev in the city of Polyarny. After the war - chairman of the commission of marine painters of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR. Participated in many all-Union exhibitions, the painting "Nakhimovtsy" was exhibited at the Tretyakov Gallery, Koltsov's works were exhibited in London at the exhibition "Liberation of Europe". Known for his landscapes on overseas business trips to China and Singapore. A. Ya. Koltsov's works are in many regional museums and private collections.
