Goncharova Natalya Sergeevna (1871, Tula Region -1962, Paris).
Had close links with the family of Goncharovs related to A.S. Pushkin (grate grandniece of the poet~s wife). In 1901-1909 she visited Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture, studied sculpturing, as a member of P.P. Trubetskoy's class, then joined Korovin"s class of painting. In 1900 she made acquaintances with the artist, M.F. Larionov, who subsequently became her husband. Was a member and an exhibitor of such association as "Jack of Diamonds", "Donkey~s Tail" and the Union of Youth. Was much influenced by P. Gogan"s works. In 1907-1911 the artist's creative works are characterized by integration of new Avanguard ideas with Lubok"s tradition, sign-painting and other types of art folklore. Goncharova had much devoted herself to decoration of publications of poets-futurists, worked in a theatre. Upon invitation made by S.P. Dyagilev, participated in "Russian seasons". In 1919, together with M.F. Larionov left Russia and settled in Paris. She devoted herself to the work in a theatre, mostly, doing the scene design of Dyagilevvs non-repertory theatre. Major part of the artistes creative heritage is kept in The State Tretyakov Gallery. Her works are displayed in the State Russian Museum, in the arts expositions of the XX century worldwide.
