Diana, Princess of Wales; [Lady Diana Frances Spencer 1961-1997] A daughter of the Spencer House, was Charles's first wife, the Prince of Wales from 1981 until their divorce in 1996, and the mother of the second and sixth heir to the British Crown, the Prince William and Harry. From her marriage to a Prince of Wales in 1981 until her death in a car accident in Paris in 1997, Diana was one of the most recognized, photographed and beloved public figures in the United Kingdom and the world. The world media has often called her the nickname "Lady Dee" or "Princess Dee".

As part of her many public actions to visit and support charities, she has worked against the use of anti-man landmines, as well as to reduce the negative stigma attached to AIDS patients - and became the first famous public figure to be photographed touching an AIDS patient. In 1983, she served, among other things, president of the British Deaf Association, and studied the British sign language. Her most publicized visit, also for charity, took place in January 1997, when visited in Angola the HALO Foundation, a mine decommissioning organization. The whole world saw Diana patrol a minefield with helmet, and bulletproof vest.

On August 31, 1997, Diana was killed in a traffic accident in a tunnel on Pont de l'Alma Street in Paris, while trying to hide from Parfachi Who tried to follow the car of the Princess and photographed.
