An impressive album containing 283 photographs depicting historical sites, interiors and exteriors of religious buildings Sacred of Judaism and other religions, figures, and scenes from various cities in palestine, c 1940s.
Among the photographs, streets, buildings, and holy places in Jerusalem: Mount Zion, the Western Wall, the Temple Mount, the YMCA Building, Jaffa Street, Jaffa Gate, the Post Office, King George Street. The market in Jaffa city, unknown photographs depicting various sights in the city of Netanya, important historical sites along the length and breadth of the Land of Israel, central streets and tombs of the righteous in the cities of Tiberias and Safed, various sights of the city of Tel Aviv, important historical buildings in Haifa [including Clock Building], Bethlehem, A kibbutz girl and more. On the last pages of the album, a number of photographs from Cairo, figures from Eretz Israel in their traditional attire, and more.
On the back of some of the photographs are various photographers' stamps that operated in the 1940s, all of them described by handwritten on the album leaves. Leather-like cover with copper relief embossed of the David tower in Bezalel style, and flower and rocaille.
Album: 36x25 cm. Most of the photos are 9x7 cm. some 7x7 cm. Most of the pages are protected with parchment paper, partially detached pages (missing the top lace that binds its leaves). The photos are in very good condition.
