Scholarly Notations on the Chavas Yair Responsa, First Print.
Chavas Yair Responsa by the Gaon Rav Chaim Yair Bacharach, Av Beis Din of Worms, Frankfurt-am-Main 5459 [1699]. On sefer's pages are many handwritten notations, some of which are signed 'the young Gershon of Dubno'.
He may be the 'Rabbinical, famous, of blessed memory, our teacher Gershon Krakover zatzal of Dubno' mentioned in the responsa of Rabbeinu Meshulam (Koritz 5547) by Rav Meshulam Ashkenazi, Av Beis Din of Ostroha, son of the Chacham Tzvi. See page 105, 2 where he writes something in the name of 'his famous father of blessed memory'- it may be that he was the son of the famous Gaon Rav Shmuel Krakover of Prague [see Bnei Ahuva by the Gaon Rav Yonasan Eibeshitz page 15,2 at end of page.]
Incomplete copy. 3-271 pages instead of [4], 276 pages. In mediocre condition, with damaged and torn pages. Front cover missing.
