Warm autograph letter by R. Yosef Tzvi Kalisch of Skernovitz-Kartchov to a Chossid R. Aaron Shlomo, thanking the latter for his letter and concluding with warm blessings.
R. Yosef Tzvi Kalisch (1886-1957), a scion of Vorka, was a son of R. Shimon of Skernovitz, who in turn was a son of R. Menachem Mendel of Vorka. Renowned as a great Talmid Chochom, in 1935 he was asked by R. Yitzchok Gerstenkorn to serve as the first Rov of the newly founded town of Bnei Brak. Held in great esteem, he was instrumental in establishing the orthodox character of Bnei Brak.
