Humorous satire of American Jewish life written in Gemora style, by R. Gershon Rosenzweig. The author dedicates the work in honor of “Dodi R. Shmuel Ha’Nogid”- i.e. Uncle Sam.
For hundreds of years, persecution and difficult living conditions, coupled with Talmudic minds, often cultivated a wry and sometimes satirical sense of humor. Frequently these publications reflect the times during which they were written, with cryptic references to current events.
