A lengthy and carefully written autograph letter by Championnet, referring to the letters received from Lefevre from Strasbourg, referring also to General Augereau, and sending a detailed list of concerns and comments related to the North Army and his own troops, stating in part `These troops wear perfect uniforms, fully equipped, are well paid, while our own ones are almost naked, and they have not been paid for the last four months..´ further adding a long list of needs, and forwarding his own thoughts about forming troops.
