Engagement contract between Gella, the daughter of R. Elchanan Rosenstein, Dayan of Berlin, to Doniel Frankel. Traditional formula with various conditions and signatures of witnesses including R. Yaakov Yosef Ettinger Rav of Berlin and R. Elchonon Rosenstein father of the bride.
R. Yaakov Yosef Ettinger (died 1861), was a disciple of R. Tzvi Hirsch of Zamosc. Known as distinguished Talmid Chochom he served as Rav in Berlin.
R. Elchonon Rosenstein served as a Dayan in Berlin. In addition to his rabbinic duties in Berlin, he was active on behalf of the impoverished residents of Yerusholayim.
The father of the bride states here he will provide a dowry of 1000 Reichsthaler by the day of the wedding.
