• Historic signed letter dated 1927 to R. Naftoli Tzvi Riff of Camden NJ upon R. Berlin’s return from the Zionist Congress. He writes on the important role the Mizrachi plays in the future of the Jewish state and the prestige in which the Mizrachi is held.
• Signed letter dated 1939 to Rabbi Dr. Leo Jung requesting financial support for the “Kehilas” organization (where R. Berlin was president) which supports outstanding Yeshiva bochurim.
This letter is of particular importance as it shows R. Berlin involvement in supporting Bnei Torah.
• Signed letter dated 1915 on the letterhead of Mizrachi Bureau in New York regarding a meeting with a potential new Mizrachi member.
R. Meir Berlin (Bar-Ilan) (1880-1949), was born in Volozhin and studied in the great Yeshivos of Volozhin, Telshe, Brisk and together with his grandfather, the Oruch Ha’Shulchon in Novardok. In 1905, he joined the Mizrachi movement soon becoming one of its most prominent voices and eventually its leader. He co-founded the Encyclopedia Talmudis project and wrote many of the entries in the first two volumes.
