Tikun Gittin. Regarding the writing of Brooklyn/Brownsville in a Get. New York 1935.
Interesting work on the correct writing of Brooklyn in a Get, by R. Moshe Binyomin Tomashov (MaBI”T) (1878-1960), the editor of the famed Yagdil Torah Journal of Slutzk and New York.
In the first half of the Twentieth Century, many Jews began settling in Brownsville a suburb in Brooklyn. As the community expanded, people began moving to areas outside of Brownsville proper but still referred to it as Brownsville. This created many questions as to what to write in a Get which requires the precise location to be written in order to be valid. This work goes through the whole topic as well as other many curious subjects that were prevalent in the early years of Jewish settlement in Brooklyn.
Monoester Publishing Co. 44 pages. 23 cm. Very fine condition. Original soft cover binding.
