Original photograph of a Mizrachi gathering that took place in New York in the 1930’s. In the center of the photo is R. Meir Berlin, one of the leaders of the movement, among many other distinguished Rabbonim and important figures.
R. Meir Berlin (Bar-Ilan) (1880-1949), was born in Volozhin youngest child of his father the Netziv, and studied in the great Yeshivos of Volozhin, Telshe, Brisk and together with his grandfather, the Oruch Ha’Shulchon in Novardok. In 1905, he joined the Mizrachi movement soon becoming one of its most prominent voices and eventually its leader. He co-founded the Encyclopedia Talmudis project and wrote many of the entries in the first two volumes.
