Ezras Noshim Takonos Agunos. All 3 Volumes. Only Editions. Frankfurt/Brussels/London 1949
Important and rare works on the subject of Agunos by R. Meir Feuerwarger (Meiri). In the aftermath of the Holocaust, one of the most pressing and difficult concerns was the tragic plight of the women whose husbands disappeared in the horrors of the Holocaust. The unprecedented circumstances were tackled by many of the greatest surviving rabbinical figures of the era who devoted their best efforts to solving these complex and heart-wrenching halachic queries. The laws of Agunos are among the most complicated in Talmudic law and require the collection of testimony from persons who held information concerning the death of a missing husband.
R. Meir Feuerwarger (1904-1968), was born in Tirnau Czechoslovakia and served as a Rav in Frankfurt from 1929-1938. Before WWII he moved to Belgium and lived in Brussels. During the war, he assisted many refugees. Immediately after the war he was nominated as a member of the Rabbinical Court in Brussels which dealt with the issue of the Agunos.
Volume 1; 244 pages. Volume 2; 248 pages. Volume 3; 16, 2-336 pages. 26.5 cm. Excellent condition. Original bindings.
