Passover Haggadah as per the rites of the Jews of India with a Marathi translation.
This Haggadah was edited and brought to print in Pune, India in 1874 by the brothers Moshe Yaakov and Aaron Daniel Ilker, and is one of only a few Seforim and the very only Haggadah published in Pune. The pages are laid out with the Hebrew text and Marathi translation on facing pages.
On pages 1-5 there are original illustrations depicting the preparations of Pesach and Matzah, as well as the actual Seder, all according to Indian custom. These authentic illustrations give us a glimpse into the world of Eastern Jewry and show us firsthand their appearance and attire during that era.
