Minhogim Shel Ha'Gaon. Original manuscript of the Minhogei Ha’Gra handwritten by a nephew of the Gaon! Historic Discovery!
Manuscript of Minhogei Ha’Gra handwritten sometime after the passing of the GR’A, by a son of R. Yissochar Ber, a brother of the Gaon (see for example note 8 “I heard from my father HaRav brother of the Gaon, R”Y Ber”). This six page manuscript includes 195 ‘Minhagei HaGra’, and includes variations to the published Ma’asey Rav (Vilna Horodna 1832).
The sefer Ma’asey Rav which encompasses the Minhagim of the Gaon, was originally prepared for publication by R. Saadiah and R. Yissochar Ber who were among the inner circle of the Gaon. Together with the Biur Ha’Gra on Shulchon Oruch, it is an authentic source of Halocha according to the Gaon, and is quoted in the Mishna Berurah as practical Halocha. It was printed with the approbations of R. Chaim Volozhiner, R. Abele of Vilna and the Chayei Odom, all of whom stress the importance of its printing.
See Toras Ha’Gra by R. Dovid Kamenetzky page 179.
6 pages 12 sides. 24.5 cm. Overall-Moderate condition. Damage along the outer margins effecting text. Modern binding.
